Challenge

A few years ago we isolated multi drug resistant bacteria on a wound of street connected boy (12 years) sustained injury on foot post road traffic accident. In this and other medical cases we found that there is a gap in accessing healthcare services to the underserved population and without immediate intervention these conditions leads to serious medical complications and increase poverty burden to the individuals who struggles to access basic needs such as clothes, food and shelter.

Solution

Tanzania Rural Health Movement is an experienced NGO with seven years experience in delivering healthcare services to the underserved population residing in urban-rural areas. The organization has pioneered a first free citywide emergency care services outside the hospital where the ambulance and first responders are ready to serve 24/7 also medical dispensary project supports provision of free medical care services including mental health services to the street connected children and elderly.

Long-Term Impact

In 2021, a total of 124 incidents (203 casualties benefited) were responded, 219 street connected children (527 disease cases) were attended and a total of 1,104 clients accessed medical care at the medical dispensary. In 2022, we are working to double the impact across the urban-rural communities through increasing the coverage of responding to medical emergencies outside the hospital and accessing more street connected children who are in need of medical care services.

Exploring a Quest on your own is good, but doing it together with friends and community members is better! Facilitating Quests is easy and no one needs to be an expert. The Quest Path is intuitive. Just take the steps that interest you. To begin, decide on the Gathering type.
Quest Meeting
Hold a meeting open to Visionary society members and the public, with the purpose of following any Quest Path, reaching the heart of a basic social or personal mystery. See more.
Public Action
A great insight matters little unless and until we bring it into the world. Public Action is bringing the insights of a Quest to the public. It works by engagement – engaging the public, helpfully but with clarity, in matters of significance. See more.
Celebration of the Good
Can we envision a new kind of entertainment, one that engages people in active celebration of beauty, truth and good? See more.
