A great insight matters little unless and until we bring it into the world
Action is the final and necessary step in Quest. What kind of action? It doesn’t matter much, as long as it is offered publicly and in a way that breaks through pleasantries, addresses the root issue, and creates a climate of affection and reflection.
How it works
• Share the Quest in any public or quasi-public space.
• Hand out an Invitation card or pamphlet. Ask them to enter a process of thoughtfulness about an issue that affects the Place they are using.
Principles
• Any social problem can be resolved at the root level.
• Invitations work by creating awareness. The more people we invite, the more momentum there is.
• It is always possible to reach the heart of the protagonist.

Transform is possible
It’s easy to blame others for violence in society. But the roots of violence run deep, and we are all responsible to some extent. Let’s begin by meeting to explore the subtle, indirect (as well as obvious) ways we make violence possible. Then, let’s go onto the streets to ask others to join with us in self-transformation for the sake of the innocent victims.

Your calling is not a choice
Don’t take the easy way. You have many comforts, pleasures, distractions, enjoyment, fulfillment. Be unreasonable. Be discontented. Take risks for the sake of your soul.
A choice is just the selection between interests or desires. A choice is of the mind, a mind that has no clue. Calling is choiceless. Aim for ‘choiceless awareness’
Address each important area of your life – One third of your time for money – One third of your time for creativity – One third of your time for helping
Public meeting and action
Advertise a public meeting Work to include people of all opinions, esp. those who have extreme points of view. Take the time to listen to each other. Think about and plan a collaborative public action.
Public action ideas Engage the public in thinking of the unexamined ways we are creating injury and death. Supermarkets. Automobiles. Convenience stores selling alcohol, cigarettes and gasoline. And mostly the ways in which we are wounded psychologically and spiritually.
Beautiful Books event
We don’t need to depend on artists and arts institutions. Everyone is capable of creativity – practical creativity in their actual life. Art can recover the power to change society – to break the bonds of the static, to bring institutions to life. Here are a few possibilities.
Beautiful Books Do you believe beauty, good and truth exist, that it is possible to find out what these are and to defend them in popular culture? Join us in creating Beautiful Books. The purpose of Beautiful Books is to promote and celebrate beautiful culture and art. Beautiful Books is a counterpart to Banned Books. Instead of selecting works because they had been banned, Beautiful Books has readings, discussion and performances of works that are considered beautiful by members.
Art in Every Home Should original art be available only to the wealthy? We need to make it less expensive and more freely available. Help artists and the general population create art that is affordable or free. Set aside a place for distributing this. Support special events to publicize the project.
Art Everywhere We need new ways to display, express and interact with art. We need art that is less expensive and more accessible. Art, creativity and beauty should be part of everyone's life. Should original art be available only to the wealthy? To begin, let's put one piece of art in every home!
Find ways to be with those who are suffering
“Do not lose awareness of the existence of suffering in the life of the world. including personal contact, visits, images, and sounds. By such means, awaken yourself and others to the reality of suffering in the world. If we get in touch with the suffering of the world, and are moved by that suffering, we may come forward to help the people who are suffering.
