Share insights and core truths with the public

Share the unique, core truths (as opposed to ideology) in your traditional texts, customs, and beliefs. Make them accessible to the public and available to anyone who might be interested. Disclose the special insights of your organization on their own terms (as opposed to the imposition of authority). Be as open and inclusive as possible (without diluting special, unique insights).

Truth is universal. Every truth can be applied to any person or situation. Wisdom should not be hoarded. Religions are our common birthright, and belong equally to everyone. They are storehouses of wisdom, from which we may draw our own portion.
What special truths does your religion offer? How can this be shared with those who are not participants in this tradition or have no knowledge of it?

How to Explore a Perspective
Relax, focus. Take a step back and look at the Perspective from all sides. Now, zero in at the center!

What is the Bias?
What assumptions does it make? Whose interests does it serve?

What is your Personal Experience?
How does it make you feel? How do your experiences, privileges, and personal interests affect your understanding of it?
Now, enter the heart
▶ Say something good about what you disagree with, even if there are flaws.
▶ Find causes, not symptoms. Ask what lies at the root.
▶ Have respect for people with different views, insights, and priorities!

Support all other local religious organizations

Have knowledge of and respect for other religions and ways of life. Collaborate helpfully with other religious groups and organizations.
Establish a place for all other religious groups, within your community. Share your unique insights, with the goal of building a common framework for a larger spiritual community. Join with other churches in practical social action.

Explore the insights and strengths of other religions, churches, sects and ways of life. Find out how you agree, rather than on how you differ. Focus on what is good in each organization, not what is harmful.
Do not claim that your views are the only correct ones. Do not claim that your system is the only way to achieve happiness.

Direct experience and knowledge of central truths

Present the core truths of your spiritual tradition not as dogma to be accepted, but as insights to be experienced.
Encourage participants to find out these truths by free, independent thought.
Religion is first and foremost a way to share spiritual insights. Tradition is secondary.
Reduce authoritarian or hierarchical practices. Repudiate unthinking obedience to leaders or traditions.

Seek what is of value in any religion

Whenever in any religious faith, dark or bright, we allow our minds to dwell upon the points in which we differ from other people, we are wrong, and in the devil’s power...At every moment of our lives we should be trying to find out, not in what we differ from other people, but in what we agree with them; and the moment we find we can agree as to anything that should be done, kind or good, (and who but fools couldn’t?) then do it; push at it together: you can’t quarrel in a side-by-side push; but the moment that even the best men stop pushing, and begin talking, they mistake their pugnacity for piety, and it’s all over.

Have respect for and knowledge of other religions

This messenger of peace must have equal regard for all the principal religions of the earth. Thus, if he is a Hindu, he will respect the other faiths current in India. He must, therefore, possess a knowledge of the general principles of the different faiths professed in the country.

It is a sacred duty of every individual to have an appreciative understanding of other religions.”

Religious organizations have divided man

I do not know if you have ever observed what mischief the religious organizations have done in the world, how they have divided man. You are a Catholic, I am a Protestant. To us the label is much more important than the actual state of affection, love, kindliness. Nations have divided us, nationalities have divided us. One can observe this division, which is our conditioning and which brings about fear.
