Millions of people are in need and deserve compassion
Everyone has a right to a secure livelihood and safe living conditions. “People all over the world immigrate into our country. Americans don’t realize the pain and agony that these people go through just to make a living for a better life. Most immigrants come to the U.S. for job opportunities to help their families economically. American citizens believe that immigrants are here to corrupt us but i disagree because they help us with jobs that many Americans wouldn’t like to do. They go beyond expectancy, payed low wages, and are believed to be extremely hard workers. Isn’t that what America needs?” NYT comment, Vivian R. August 30, 2010
Relax, focus. Take a step back and look at the Perspective from all sides. Now, zero in at the center!
What is the Bias?
What assumptions does it make? Whose interests does it serve?
What is your Personal Experience?
How does it make you feel? How do your experiences, privileges, and personal interests affect your understanding of it?

Illegal immigrants take jobs that unemployed American citizens would hav
Besides taking jobs from American workers, illegal immigration creates huge economic burdens on our health care system, our education system, our criminal justice system, our environment, our infrastructure and our public safety.

Most immigrants just want to do the jobs few are willing to do
Xenophobia, the fear that has always been easy for demagogues to arouse because it's such a basic human instinct. But the immigrants now coming across the Mexican border do not want to sack our cities. They're not about to pillage our granaries or march home with Americans in chains. They just want to mow our lawns and clean our offices. They're coming to feed us, not take our food, yet we're demanding that our leaders keep them out. No Mexican busboys! No Guatemalan cooks! Stop them before they grill again!” New York Times, May, 2006

Dangerous criminals are involved in human trafficking
Terrorists can come across. They're devastating our ranchers down in southern Arizona - drop houses, kidnapping, automobile accidents, extortion, drugs, the spill-over with the drug cartels. We're facing all of it.
