This project combines two income-generating activities: henna artistry (uchoraji wa hina) and groundnut vending (njugu/karanga). Henna services will primarily cater to brides and individuals celebrating special occasions. Currently, clients bring their own materials, but with support, the goal is to provide a full service. Groundnut vending will serve as an additional, complementary source of income.
Goals
The main goal of this project is to improve the quality of services by having all necessary henna materials and tools readily available, allowing me to offer complete packages to clients rather than relying on them to bring their own. I hope to increase my income by adding groundnut vending as a complementary business. In the long term I aim to expand my business opportunities, establish a dedicated center for creative henna artistry especially for bridal services, and offer training and mentorship to others who want to learn the art.
Additional Support
To achieve these goals I would benefit from support in a few key areas. First, I need training in business and financial management including how to effectively market my services through social media. This would help me reach more customers and manage my business more professionally. Second, I need tuition support to attend a formal henna artistry course which would enhance my skills and allow me to offer certified high-quality services to my clients.
Vision
"To empower underserved individuals through weaving skills training, fostering self-reliance, confidence, and meaningful participation in society."
