Chickens are the most abused animals on the planet

Chickens raised on factory farms each year in the U.S. never have the chance to do anything that’s natural or important to them. A baby chick on a factory farm will never be allowed contact with his or her parents, let alone be raised by them. These chickens are deprived of the chance to take dust baths, feel the warmth of the sun on their backs, breathe fresh air, roost in trees, and build nests.

Industrial farming is not cruel to animals

As upsetting as certain animal agriculture practices may seem, they need not be construed as cruel or inhumane. Any link between industrial farming and cruelty or inhumanity is contingent on certain cultural, behavioral, and psychological facts that are person-dependent. For many people working in animal agriculture, these facts do not obtain. To be sure, industrial animal agriculture has real moral hazards that must be carefully avoided, but all that this shows is that working with animals is not for everyone.

Factory farms are destructive to ourselves, the environment - & animals

Animals on factory farms are regarded as commodities to be exploited for profit. They undergo painful mutilations and are bred to grow unnaturally fast and large for the purpose of maximizing meat, egg, and milk production for the food industry. Their bodies cannot support this growth, which results in debilitating and painful conditions and deformities.

Don’t be fooled by labels

Labeling meat chickens Cage Free is misleading because, unlike egg-laying hens, they are never raised in cages. If someone claims Hormone Free, well of course they are, because it is already illegal to feed hormones to chickens.

Farmed salmon are some of the most toxic foods

Salmon fisheries are faced with a range of severe problems, from overfishing to chemical pollution and genetic mutation from toxic exposures. “Through intensive farming and global pollution, the flesh of the fish we eat has turned into a deadly chemical cocktail.”
