Stake your life on the existence of a transcendent reality.
Stake your life on the existence of a transcendent reality. Decide to become capable of spirituality, freedom, love, good.
Begin with humility. Assume that you are ignorant, that every one of your assumptions are incorrect. That everything constructed by society is false. Begin by admitting that you are bewitched, seduced by whatever you are most fond of. Fight the idea that the greatest thing in life is to satisfy your interests or needs.
“By foregoing beauty for goodness, power for love, grief for gratitude, by entreating the Lord for help to understand our hopes, for strength to resist our fears, we may receive a gentle sense of the holiness permeating the air."
Abraham Heschel
Spirituality Meetings

The Core of Religions
The goal of the Core of Religions is to recognize the tremendous living fountain of insight at the center of wisdom traditions.
Conventional religions are powerless to check the modern religion of materialism. Wisdom should not be hoarded. Religions are our birthright, and belong equally to everyone. They are the common storehouses of wisdom, from which we may draw our own portion.

Celebration of the Good
Reading aloud of great spiritual works, including those by Ralph Waldo Emerson, Abraham Heschel and John Ruskin.
“In the cloud of the human soul there is a fire stronger than the lightning, and a grace more precious than the rain.” John Ruskin
"Spirituality means aliveness. Spirituality is never a private affair. Grateful living is a building of networks upon networks. It’s a communal affair, and it’s revolutionary." Brother David Steindl-Rast
“By foregoing beauty for goodness, power for love, grief for gratitude, by entreating the Lord for help to understand our hopes, for strength to resist our fears, we may receive a gentle sense of the holiness permeating the air." Abraham Heschel
Meetings on God, the Sacred, Prayer, Faith
“To find God you must know how to love, not God, but the human beings around you, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Then, when you know how to love them, you will really know what it is to love God.” Jiddu Krishnamurti
“O my brothers, God exists. There is a soul at the centre of nature, and over the will of every man, so that none of us can wrong the universe. It has so infused its strong enchantment into nature, that we prosper when we accept its advice, and when we struggle to wound its creatures, our hands are glued to our sides, or they beat our own breasts.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
“To witness the perpetual marvel of the world’s coming into being is to sense the presence of the Giver in the given, to realize that the source of time is eternity, that the secret of being is the eternal within time.” Abraham Heschel
Spiritual Community
Can we construct a practical spirituality for the disaffected modern life?
Are you okay with living your life as it is given to you? Or will you dive into the sea of the real? Go ahead, lift your head above the languid sea. Tell yourself: I am going to live. Greet the day with promise. Smile in the face of mortality.
