Community-wide podcasting/radio program for poignant awareness and action
Let's tell stories about matters of importance and create a new network of creators, listeners – and social action.

There are so many important untold stories to tell! Stories about important situation, places, events and people that we normally hear little if anything about. Stories that – if brought together and publicized – could galvanize the community in deeper understanding and creative action. Let’s use new inexpensive, accessible technology for old-fashioned heart-to-heart communication!

There are many podcasts and a lot of support for podcasting. But there are few community based groups that bring together podcasts for deep thought and awareness that reach out to a fairly large community. Can we develop this Project as a platform for anyone to begin to use locally, and then expanding to provide a forum for anyone to use locally?

Here are some initial ideas for kinds of programs. The possibilities are endless, and should be up to the specific podcast creator. The only thing we should insist on is thoughtfulness, awareness, suppression of politics, and sensitivity (with some basic tools to support that.

What is happening in your village or community?
Local lives. For example, old people review of their life, what they want to say.
Amazing people, places, events

Traditional food and recipes
Alternatives to existing institutions (from people working in that area). The experience of people in the system.
The actual functioning of the criminal justice system. The extent of the mass incarceration system and what we can do about it for actual (non-political) justice.
Dysfunction: poverty, addiction, homelessness.
Local writers, artists, musicians
Workers situation
Farming, subsistence
What should we do in terms of local transportation, utilities, energy, health, education, etc.? What should our communities look like?

Gatherings
Exploring a Quest on your own is good, but doing it together with friends and community members is better.

Exploring a Quest on your own is good, but doing it together with friends and community members is better! Facilitating Quests is easy and no one needs to be an expert. The Quest Path is intuitive. Just take the steps that interest you. To begin, decide on the Gathering type.
Quest Meeting
Hold a meeting open to Visionary society members and the public, with the purpose of following any Quest Path, reaching the heart of a basic social or personal mystery. See more.
Public Action
A great insight matters little unless and until we bring it into the world. Public Action is bringing the insights of a Quest to the public. It works by engagement – engaging the public, helpfully but with clarity, in matters of significance. See more.
Celebration of the Good
Can we envision a new kind of entertainment, one that engages people in active celebration of beauty, truth and good? See more.
