Gatherings
Objective
The purpose of Gatherings is to introduce newcomers and existing Partners to Visionary Society. Each Gathering focuses on a single Quest (e.g., Culture, Money, Relationships, etc.).
Frequency
To be determined—possibly 1 to 4 times annually.
Budget
To be determined (estimated at $250 per Gathering).
Participation
A number of potential partners (or anyone interested) will be invited to the Gathering. At the end of the Gathering those who are interested in starting a Project and becoming a Visionary Society Partner may apply. They can then schedule a time to learn more about Projects and get help from a Guide in creating their own.
Program flow
1. Celebration (30 min)
Cultural activities: Readings, music, dance, video clips, or shared food and beverages.
Focus on engaging the heart and soul through meaningful experiences.
2. Introduction (15 min)
Overview of Visionary Society’s mission and structure.
Discussion of the local situation.
3. Highlighted Quest (20 min)
Examination of a current global/local issue.
Discussion of visionary solutions.
4. Reflection (5 min)
A guided meditation to reflect on the topic.
5. Talking Circle (20 min)
Open sharing: Participants express what they care about, what is missing, and their hopes and dreams.
6. Projects Workshop (80 min)
What is a Project?
How to create a Visionary Society Project.
