Become a Guide
Do you want to help create Visionary Society in your community? Guides are catalysts helping participants understand their life and community. They jumpstart Visionary Society by selecting one or more programs to develop. Select whatever opportunities that interest you.
The Guide is someone who is sensitive to the lives of others. The most important work of the guide is to recognize newcomers for who they are.
This position is right for you if:
● You want to take an active role in bringing affection and thoughtfulness to your community.
● You have decent communication skills.
● You understand and support the principles of Visionary Society.
Hold a Meeting
Exploring a Quest on your own is good, but doing it together with friends and community members is better! You don’t need to be an expert. Just follow the Visionary Society Journey: Explore, Reflect, Challenge and Action. The Guide facilitates the meeting, selecting areas from the Visionary Society Journey (Reflect, Perspectives, Pledge, Transform) to focus on. Decide on whichever Resources you’d like participants to review before the meeting.
● Introduce the Mystery.
● Review Perspectives. Each participant can select one to discuss.
● Facilitate Reflect (Guided meditation with the goal of engaging the mystery in your own life).
● Explore Pledge and Transform.
● Discuss possible Public Actions.
Personal Projects
Visionary Society Projects is a new way to connect those who need help with those who want to help, based on mutual understanding and concern:
● What do you need?
● What are your dreams?
● What resources are available in Visionary Society and the community for work, learning, and creativity?
Community Projects
Community Projects benefit the community as a whole in a meaningful way. Although they will provide a practical benefit, they are meant to be personal, heart-centered and thoughtful. They are created by Visionary Society itself (as opposed to Partner Projects, which are created by individuals to accomplish a goal or dream of their own).
Action
Public event and city-wide engagement.
