The elderly have a right to wind in their hair, the right to experience the city and nature close up from the bicycle and by giving them an opportunity to tell their story in the environment where they have lived their lives.

We meet at nursing homes. Many of them no longer have the physical ability it takes to bike a trip down memory lane, down to the harbor or just a trip around to feel that they are still alive. This is how the mission behind Cycling Without Age was made: We want to give elderly the opportunity to feel the wind rush through their hair.

Getting started with a Cycling Without Age chapter is an amazing experience. Nothing beats witnessing the joy of the elderly, pilots and nursing home staff interact on and around the trishaw and seeing the smiles of passengers coming back from their first ride with wind in their hair, rosy cheeks and full of stories.
Your journey starts with becoming a Cycling Without Age Affiliate, and while you enjoy being part of our generous and bustling global community, you can start fundraising for your first bike. All affiliates are changemakers on a mission to beat social isolation and create joyous communities across generations connected through a worldwide network and resource database.
Whenever you purchase a trishaw or pay to participate in a training class, you help support our operations and most importantly the overall purpose of the right to wind in the hair. Learn more about how we operate here.

Worldwide, more than 60,000 elderly people have been on rides, and the Cycling Without Age trishaws cover more than 2.2 million kilometers each year – that’s 523 times around the globe.
