We all know that the goal of business is to make money. There is nothing wrong with making money, but the business person is not only a money maker and does not have to act selfishly all the time. He is also a human being. Any business can carve out a small space in which money is not involved at all. Profit doesn't have to be the sole concern. There is always a possibility of doing something – no matter how small – in which profit is not involved in any way.
What does it mean to set aside a space for meaning? It can be anything at all, as long as it is not just an attempt to get good publicity or some other form of personal benefit. It can be a way to help customers, a place for discussion or community, resources for learning, social services, etc. It doesn't have to be expensive. It doesn’t have to be a normal part of their business (which might decrease their income).
