What is a Reflexology Path? A reflexology path is a therapeutic sensory experience. AKRA is planning a fun and relaxing way for the public to learn about and experience a health therapy in a healing environment.
What is Reflexology? Reflexology is practiced throughout the world as a safe, drug-free, complementary practice within the holistic health field. It is a protocol of manual techniques applied to specific reflex areas primarily on the feet, hands, and ears. The non-invasive techniques are meant to stimulate the neural pathways linking body systems, supporting the body’s efforts to function optimally.
The location at Folker Park was chosen because it is within walking distance of Horizon House, Providence Medical Center, the University of Alaska, and many local businesses and neighborhoods, which will bring diverse populations together to experience and enjoy the path.
AKRA is a member of the national organization Reflexology Association of America(RAA), and this year will host the International Council of Reflexologists conference in Anchorage.
