Challenge
Our partner, Project Wezesha, has made great strides in ensuring students excel in secondary school through rigorous study camps and academic support. Now, we are presented with a great challenge: supporting a cohort of bright and motivated young Tanzanian women as they pursue their educational goals at university! The cost of post-secondary education is prohibitive for many families, but it doesn't have to be if we work together.
Solution
This project will help cover university tuition and associated fees so that these young women can go to - and stay in - university and achieve their bachelor's degree. Help us build a bridge from secondary to higher education for these scholars so that their education doesn't end before they want it to!
Long-Term Impact
When a girl completes secondary school she is empowered to seek greater opportunities for herself and eventually her children. She will likely advocate for herself and her family in relation to healthcare and education. With the addition of post-secondary education, she is further empowered to make decisions related to her career, marriage, and family planning. An educated woman contributes to an educated society, so her impact on her community will be profound.
