Problem

Our grocery store struggles with spoilage of perishable items due to poor inventory management and inadequate storage. We also face stiff competition from larger stores and fluctuating prices that impact our profits. To address these issues, we will implement better inventory systems, invest in quality storage solutions, focus on unique local products, and explore micro-loans for expansion. This will help us reduce waste, compete effectively, and grow our business sustainably.

Goals

My project is to start a small grocery shop called Genge, which will offer fresh, affordable groceries and household items to our community. I'll handle all aspects of the shop, from managing inventory to daily operations, and work with local suppliers to stock the shelves. Initially, I’ll manage the shop myself, but as it grows, I plan to hire one or two assistants to help with the workload.

Plan

The grant funds will be allocated to set up Genge, our new grocery shop. This includes renovating the space, purchasing shelving and display units, and buying initial inventory like fresh produce and household essentials. We’ll also invest in a cooler for perishable items and a basic cash register.

Timeline:

Weeks 1-2: Complete renovations, set up shelving, and install equipment.

Week 4: Launch the shop, begin regular operations, and adjust stock based on customer demand.

Needs & Funds

For the grocery shop (Genge), I need funds for rent, store setup (including shelving, coolers, and counters), and initial inventory of groceries and packaging materials. Financial resources will cover startup costs such as licenses and permits, as well as the first stock of essential items. The aim is to have the shop ready to open within a month, providing the community with fresh and affordable groceries.

Vision

With Genge, I hope to create a reliable source of fresh and affordable groceries for our community. I envision steady income for myself and new job opportunities as the shop grows. My long-term goal is to strengthen our local economy by supporting local suppliers and building a loyal customer base.
