Introduce a different force: love, empathy, compassion and interbeing

It is important to introduce a different kind of force to animate the structures that might appear after the old ones crumble.
Politically, empathy is akin to solidarity, born of the understanding that we are all in this together. In what together? What would it take for it to embody love, compassion, and interbeing? Can we take these ideas into the political world and create an eye of compassion inside the political hate vortex?

Liberal elites failed to understand the crisis in middle America

The press have no credibility. The 'Deplorables' resented being called racist, misogynist, etc. The elite saw Trump supporters as the product of stupidity at best, or racism at worst. People voted for Trump because of real concerns, especially economics, but also family life to life expectancy to the drugs that have infected communities. The loss of millions and millions of jobs have fueled anger----racial, religious, sexual, political, etc. This country has abandoned our working class.

The era of American exceptionalism is over. American is a failed state.

This is a spiritual experience, they have given a rebuke to a system that richly deserved it.

Trump is a bigot, a demagogue, a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe & a bully

Trump is the most unprepared president-elect in history. He has shown himself to be temperamentally unfit to lead a diverse nation of 320 million people. We know he has threatened to prosecute and jail his political opponents, and he has said he would curtail the freedom of the press. We know he lies without compunction.

We need to reform or replace the Democratic party

The Democratic party needs to be either decisively wrested from pro-corporate neoliberals, or it needs to be abandoned. A hell of a lot of people are in pain. Under neoliberal policies of deregulation, privatization, austerity and corporate trade, their living standards have declined precipitously. They have lost jobs. They have lost pensions. They have lost much of the safety net that used to make these losses less frightening. They see a future for their kids even worse than their precarious present.

Leave the country! The experiment is over.

It is impossible to ever find our way back. The experiment is over, there will be a lot of peer review, but it won't matter. We are so far from our intended path that it is impossible to ever find our way back. The United States will cease to exist in its present form in less than 50 years.

Create a Thoughtfulness Party

Politics is always going to be divisive. We need a new Humanity Party or People's Party or Thoughtfulness Party to begin to engage the population in an entirely new way.

Democracy actually works. Against the establishment, the people spoke.

The people that Clinton derided as a “basket of deplorables” have spoken. What you have is a defeat of elitism. Nearly all major newspaper, polls and entertainers lined up against Trump. Ad spending and endorsements were nearly all in support of Clinton. This is a crisis of confidence for America’s ruling elite.

The election represents the decline of American democracy

The probably most divisive and scandalous election in American history has eroded voters' faith in the two-party system, as many voters called it a game of money, power, and influence.
