Goal
Find what is true or insightful about each perspective, and resolve these contradictions by reaching the level that created the conflict to begin with. (The goal is not to determine which side is right, or even to find a solution that satisfies the interests of each side.)
Introduction
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends getting 29 doses of 9 vaccines (plus a yearly flu shot after six months old) for kids aged 0 to six. No US federal laws mandate vaccination, but all 50 states require certain vaccinations for children entering public schools. Most states offer medical and religious exemptions; and some states allow philosophical exemptions.

All children should be required to have vaccinations

Vaccinations protect the 'herd'. Herd (community) immunity means that when a critical portion of a population is vaccinated against a contagious disease it is unlikely that an outbreak of the disease will occur, so most members of the community will be protected. Some people, such as those too young or old to be vaccinated, or those with immune deficiencies, cannot be vaccinated.
Vaccines save children and their parents time and money, due to fewer medical expenses and time off from work. Vaccines also protect future generations, preventing birth defects and eradicating diseases.

Vaccines also protect future generations, preventing birth defects and eradicating diseases. Many vaccine-preventable diseases are still in the United States or "only a plane ride away.” For example, polio and measles can be brought back by travelers to other countries.

Parents should be able to choose whether their children should have vaccinations

Medical decisions for children should be left to the parents or caregivers. Personal medical decisions should not be made by government. Freedom over one’s physical person is the most basic freedom of all, and people in a free society should be sovereign over their own bodies. Mandatory vaccines infringe upon constitutionally protected religious freedoms.

Vaccinations are dangerous

Some vaccines may cause side effects, including seizures, paralysis, and death. They contend that numerous studies prove that vaccines may trigger problems like autism, ADHD, and diabetes.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, all vaccines carry a risk of a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) in about one per million children. The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) says that vaccines may be linked to learning disabilities, asthma, autism, diabetes, chronic inflammation, and other disabilities.
Vaccines contain harmful ingredients, including thimerosal, aluminum, formaldehyde and glutaredldehyde, which can cause a variety of illnesses, such as autism, cancer, coma, heart failure and diabetes.
Some basic vaccinations may be safe, but others are not.

Vaccinations are safe

The scientific consensus is that vaccinations are safe. Major medical organizations state that vaccines are safe. These include the CDS, Food and Drug Administration, American Medical Association, UNICEF, US Department of Health and Human Services, and the World Health Organization.
Even if there is some risk to a small minority of children, we have to take that risk for the common good, because we need herd immunity among the general population.
Ingredients, such as thimerosal, formaldehyde, and aluminum, can be harmful in large doses but they are not used in harmful quantities in vaccines. Children are exposed to more aluminum in breast milk and infant formula than they are exposed to in vaccines

Is it reasonable for a healthy young adult with a strong immune system t

Besides that the vaccine is very ineffective, the point is, what is the vaccine doing to your immune system? Do you know? Do they know? And do you want to risk Guillain-Barre syndrome, which, as the article admits, has been linked to flu vaccinations? Why are you/they pressuring everyone? Do you trust Western medicine and the sincerity of the Big-pharam-industrial complex?

The problem with over vaccination (what is it 46 vaccination shots in the first year of life now?) is that, along with over-sanitization (anti-bacterial everything everywhere) we are triggering a host of auto-immune disorders, as immune system scours the body looking for someplace to attack. The Times Health section has written about this, or check out https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/46/9/1469/330414.

I am 63, eat well, rest well, know how to relax, work hard, and have the flu once as an adult and it did not kill me. And, I probably caught it on a plane coming back from a trip in the dead of winter in which I got very chilled and had high levels of in-law induced stress.

No. I know so many people who have gotten the flu even though they took the shot. Leave my immune system alone, thank you very much.

Conclusion
Ask the impossible question!
1. Is there a decent balance or compromise we can make, taking into account the real, underlying needs (what is good and true) of each side? 2. How can we address the underlying situation that created the problem to begin with (not just by addressing current, external issues)?
