Coordinator Duties

Profound Peace is composed of a number of separate elements, some of which have separate stipends available (see below).

The goal of the Coordinator should be to share the core concepts of Profound Peace as widely as possible in the community. Most important, we want to make related Topics available to the public. In order to do this we can think about creating a separate Meetup.com group, but other forms of public should be done as well.

Additional Opportunities
During the outreach we should publicize and support the related Pledges and Requests and possibly develop others, such as for police departments, military bases and security guard companies.
We can develop a public event, as an alternative to conventional protest, to publicize Profound Peace concepts and profound responses to specific conflicts. And we can contribute to public discussion of these issues.
We may want to create a new Meetup group for Profound Peace. Of course, Visionary Society will meet these expenses.

Examples of content we can support:

Challenge to Soldiers: Fight for the good
Soldiers should fight for a lasting and meaningful resolution to conflict. still doing their duty, soldiers should never forget to try to understand the suffering, grievances, hopes and dreams of the opposing side.
Goal: Reach half of the soldiers in local military bases.

Challenge to Police: Develop a new ethic for public safety and well-being
Instead of merely 'Protect and Serve,' we can turn aggression into helpfulness – using conflict, struggle, dysfunction, and misery as an opportunity for understanding and helpfulness.

Humane Prisons Everywhere
All people should be treated humanely, at all times, even those who have injured others and who deserve punishment.

Stipend for Paid Volunteers
$300 and up, depending on time involved. Visionary Society is a grassroots non-profit with a limited budget, but we want to assist you in providing a basic stipend for your work, based on the understanding that we are looking for a volunteer with an independent interest in carrying this out.
Goal
Reach 50% of the soldiers in local military bases, through both direct engagement and various forms of advertising.

Additional Opportunities
Help develop and present Topics on war, the responsibility of soldiers, and on specific conflicts. Offer Topics to the public using Meetup.com.

Advanced Opportunities
Join public discussions (possibly including local radio shows) on how to think about deep ways to address the conflicts we are in.
Assist with related Pledges and Requests, for police, security guards, lawyers and judges.
Join the Profound Peace Brigade.
